(Extract of a letter)About autistic children, I had once attended a conference on autism….one thing i remember is, that, to get them through daily chores of dressing, make a long flip chart with little sections.
Open all the sections….when the child gets out of bed, close that section, which will have a sketch of someone getting out of bed. When the child brushes teeth, close the section that has a sketch of someone brushing…………you can have bathing/ underwear worn/ vest worn/ fully dressed/ etc etc.
You can make a similar chart for the night routine of getting to bed.
There is a study in Japan that shows that delivering babies early, at 38 weeks by inducing labour, before labour beguins spontaneously, increasses risk of autism in the child. Maybe because in spontaneaous labour mother releases oxytocin, but in induced labour she gets its synthetic form………interestingly autistic children cannot process oxytocin in their bodies.
Also, now this is my theory, cause at the conference most moms of autistic children I spoke with at the conference had had innumerable ultrasounds, from the beginning of pregnancy. Overuse of ultrasound may be a factor.
I wonder whether Bach Flower Remedies indicated for social isolation could help? I think the medicine for that is, Holly
